Why Are Our Designs Unique?
Tired Of Seeing The Same Familiar Designs Just In Different Colors?
Le Chat Noir handcrafted jewelry is designed not to be duplicated in a variety of colors. (One exception to this general rule is that we may consider reproducing pieces in our Formal and Bridal collection upon request. Please refer to our Custom Order policy for more information.) Rather, our designers strive to create truly original designs that often include rare components that cannot be reproduced, such as unique and unusual focal beads or vintage beads that are not widely or readily available. We want our customers to find truly one-of-a-kind jewelry that may become part of a collection or a family heirloom to be passed on.
Do You Have Trouble Fastening Your Jewelry By Yourself?
You're late for work, can't get the clasp on your necklace closed and there is no one around to help you. How frustrating! Sound familiar? One unique feature of many of our necklaces is the incorporation of the closure as part of the overall design of the piece. Many of our uniqe gemstone necklaces and Swarovski crystal necklaces feature front or side closures instead of the traditional back closure. This design element not only makes our necklaces distinctive but also much easier to put on!
Looking For Distinctive Yet Practical Earrings?
We offer a very unusual line of earrings that feature ear threads. We discovered ear threads about two years ago at a local bead store, and we fell in love with them. If you have never seen or worn ear threads, you should really check them out. Ear threads not only help us create more distinctive earrings but they are also very comfortable to wear and help prevent "the lost earring syndrome" if worn properly.
Our Artists
But, what really makes our products truly unique are our artists and their original combinations of semi-precious stones, crystals and fine metals into truly distinctive designs.
Carol A. Bennett I have always been a very creative person who has found expression through creating jewelry, crafts, paintings, food, and just about any other form of artistic creativity. I have a passion to create jewelry from the crystals and unique gemstones that I love. I have loved “rocks” and making jewelry since I was in high school. I wanted a way to wear the crystals and stones that I loved so much that I decided I wanted to go to college and become a metal-smith. I realized then I had a talent for being able to construct the piece in my head and reproduce that process with my hands. I began making pendants for the fun of it and realized I needed something to do with them, so I decided to offer them to others and share the gifts of nature in wearable form. Each piece is unique and made with my own two hands. I have been making and selling jewelry (Art to Wear) for the past 38 years!
Adrienne M. Birecree
I am a very new jewelry designer, making and selling my own creations for only two years now. Although I spent 20 years of my life as a university economics professor, I never gave up my love of creative, artistic pursuits. I studied dance and continued to dance until my knees gave out. I also have studied drawing and painting and have even produced a set of watercolor cards depicting wildflowers native to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I also have been and continue to be an avid flower gardener. After retiring early from my first career as a university professor, I landed in the public school system and started working with “at risk” students. I began beading to reduce the stress from my job. I met Carol Bennett through this work, and she introduced me to the wonderful world of semi-precious gemstones and also taught me wire working techniques. I instantly fell in love with jewelry design. As is true for so many jewelry designers, I started selling my creations with Carol after people continually asked us where we found our jewelry. My jewelry designs are very reflective of my other creative interests. As a painter I loved to use bright, high contrast colors and chose subjects from my garden. The same love of color that permeates my paintings and my gardens is also evident in my jewelry designs. Much of my inspiration comes from my love of nature and the beautiful natural surroundings in which I live. My flowers, my pond and all of the wonderful creatures that inhabit my little corner of the world constantly influence my designs. It is always a rewarding challenge to try to capture and preserve elements of natural beauty using the earth’s own gorgeous mineral creations in an original piece of jewelry. All of my creative efforts are attempts to capture and celebrate the natural beauty that surrounds us on this planet if we take the time to look.
