What On Earth Are Ear Threads?
Are You Tired Of The Lost Earring Syndrome?
We discovered ear threads about two years ago when we were browsing through a local bead store. We were fascinated immediately by this variation of the traditional ear wire. Despite their expense (They are relatively expensive compared to regular ear wires.), we bought some to try them out. We loved the distinctive and elegant earrings we could create using ear threads or "threaders" as they are sometimes called. The first earrings we made with them were for ourselves. We found them much more comfortable than regular ear wires, and they never slipped out of our ears the way that some ear wires can, resulting in the famous lost earring syndrome.(It's always one earring from your favorite, unreplaceable pair, isn't it?)
A Personally Tested Product
We decided to make a line of earrings using ear threads and semi-precious gemstones and/or Swarovski crystals. The search for a supplier of ear threads then began. It took us some substantial search time, but we found a good source and we tried all of the different types available. We have found that the type we use in our earrings is the best. The sterling silver ear bar that the thread (really just a piece of chain) is attached to won't slip in your ears nor have any of the box chains attached to the bar ever broken. Other types we tried either broke easily or, in the case of threads made of nothing but a piece of chain, they eventually slipped out of our ears while they were worn. We wear ear threads all the time now. Our designs that incorporate them are different because they have a beaded drop. Most ear threads that we have seen are nothing more than continuous chain without any beading. The illustrations and instructions provided below are designed to help you if you have never worn ear threads before. They illustrate how to put them on as well as how they will look when you wear them.
How To Put On Ear Threads
We wear ear threads all the time now. Our designs that incorporate them are different because they have a beaded earring attached to the thread. Most ear threads that we have seen offered for sale are nothing more than a continuation of the chain used for the thread without any beading. The illustrations and instructions provided below are designed to help you if you have never worn ear threads before. They are designed to show you how to put them on as well as how they will look when you wear them.
